The Intro to Backcountry Snowboarding & Skiing course is the perfect course to take before taking an AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Course.
Riding untracked powder is the ultimate snow experience. You know how challenging it can be to find those moments at a ski area, that is why many set their sights on the backcountry. As you know, avalanches are very dangerous and need to be avoided. With proper training you can learn to gather critical information, make a safe trip plan and practice movement and rescue techniques that will keep you and your group smiling.
Avalanche education is a life long learning process, this intro course will teach you a lot. However, the main take away will be your realization that you have so much more to learn.
Follow this day up with an AIARE Level 1 course and you’ll have a good foundation for riding powder in a safe way.
