3-Day US Level I / AST Level I
Mazama Lodge, Government Camp, OR
Holiday weekend - January 16-18, 2010
There are no prerequisites for the Level I Avalanche course. Some background reading and any previous awareness courses may help you prepare for a Level I Avalanche course, but they are not necessary. A general level of fitness and the abililty to use equipment appropriate for basic winter travel in mountainous terrain are necessary.
All avalanche equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe and study equipment) will be supplied to you, but you may choose to bring and use your own equipment in order to become more familiar and practiced with it.
SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
This 3-day holiday weekend session is based at Mazama Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon. The course will begin on Saturday at Mazama Lodge at 8:30 AM and will conclude on Monday at Timberline Lodge at 4 PM.
This 3-day format offers a more relaxed pace than our 2-day Level I sessions
and often provides time for a few additional topics
